I do seem to have managed to overcome the 1 year license limitation and no matter what date I set the system date to this giveaway now remains activated, I am unsure whether my messing around with dates and re-applying the license with the programs date set 2 years in the future and the license was accepted was a local quirk or the giveaways license duration was changed part way through the giveaway to unlimited. I was able to maually verify the backup using AB 3.5 on the host machine that the backup image was stored on and later mannaged to coax the giveaway to see the backup image and verify it from the front panels backup entry Advance button.

obviously I will NOT be attmpting to do a complete restoration of my windows 10 laptop using that system backup image especially since the program was for some obscure reason not able to complete the backup image verification.Ĭhris, yes I did set the destination via mapped network drive letter and not the NAS setting primarily because it's not NAS but a shared folder on a nother windows machine, but I understand the similarity and I imagine the NAS methodology might have a retry connection in case of inadvertent network conectivity timeouts that do occour on SMB shares especially over wifi and such retries may not be automatically applied to mapped network shares and they could incorrectly be treated as local hard drives by the program. So a mixed bag of results on the exact same system backup image. so one does not have to recover everything just to recover one important document or file. I did a trial complete backup of my Windows 10 64bit 1809 version HP laptop backing up both drives using smart sector mode to a mapped network drive over "night" as aI slept with is set to verify the backup after completion and for some unknown reason it is unable to verify conect to the backup file even though windows explorer can without problem.
